The Greenhorn Grill:
This fine little restaurant is a short walk from the cabin. It
has a bar and dinning room. The outdoor area is very popular in
the summer and there is often live music.

Alta Sierra Ski Resort and Tube Park
(aka Shirley Meadows):
2 miles away. They have ski and snowboard rentals
and lessens. They also have a new tubing park. They started
making snow so the season should be extended from now on.

Alta Sierra:
The greenhorn mountains have a lot to
offer. There are
amazing mountain bike and hiking trails nearby. The Unal trail
and
"Just Outstanding" are maintained and tons of fun. Many of the
trails
are also legal for OHV use. There is also local rock climbing.
There
is a top rope area right below old state road, and bouldering scattered
about.
The roads around the neighborhood are great for walking or jogging.

Lake Isabella:
The cabin is 9
miles from the lake. When you are
driving down hyw 155 the views of Lake Isabella are amazing. The
lake
offer a ton of recreational opportunities. Fishing, water skiing
&
wake boarding, wind surfing, kite surfing, sailing or just relaxing.
One big annual event is the Isabella Lake Fishing Derby, one of
the
largest trout derbies in the nation.

The Kern River:
The Kern river
flows into and out of Lake Isabella.
It is popular with fishermen and white water enthusiasts.
There are
river runs that range from Class III to Class V. There are
commercial
guide outfits that can help you get on the river.

Giant Sequoias:
There are a few Sequoia groves in the area. The most
popular are an hour or so drive. They are amazing places.
Perfect for
hikers and photographers.
